Fantastic experience: Spectacular team to deal with. Every interaction, from the agents to the front-of-house staff, has been friendly, professional, and they go above and beyond. Exceptional service every time.

Negative experience: Bit of a bold move having Bruce Farquhar involved in your business. When he owned trade central and they completely ruined my house he took absolutely no responsibility for the damage caused and still had the audacity to ask me for more money. DO NOT DEAL WITH BRUCE FARQUHAR

Negative experience: If I could do minus stars I would. Absolutely shocking lack of communication and organisation from Bayleys. Poor property management with no notice of property inspections, contractors turning up with no notice to tenants. Would not recommend from a tenants point of view.

Fantastic experience: A Down-to-Earth Kiwi Gal. We'd planned to 'interview' several agents when my mother decided to put her house on the market, including one that I thought my mother would eventually be best to go with. Then a friend suggested we talk to Michelle as well. We were instantly very impressed and decided she was the best. From the beginning, Michelle's down-to-earth tactful honesty, friendly approachability and professionalism made the selection of a marketing package, a sales strategy and how to best present the property, very straightforward and even logical. Then, when the house had only been on the market a short time and we got a very good offer, Michelle advised us on the how to negotiate a "best" price. Finally, she also made it easy to decide on dates for settlement and possession along with small details like what to do with the fridge and which potplants the buyer wanted (etc). In short, from beginning to end, Michelle made what could otherwise have been a very stressful experience into a straightforward almost rewarding challenge that both we as the vendors and also the buyers ultimately benefitted from.

Fantastic experience: Professional in all matters, while well in-tune with my needs as a first-time solo buyer. If I was ever to sell this home in The Wood that I've just made my own, through Michelle Sowman, I would ask her to be my sales agent. While real estate agents are, of course, working to get the best price for vendors, I found Michelle was sensitive to my personal situation and the hopes and plans I had, as someone buying 'solo' for the first time. I quickly fell for this wee corner of the city, and, to my delight, I've found myself surrounded by the good, old-fashioned care of great neighbours. Michelle certainly did her job, securing a price for these vendors that was well above the expected estimate. So, while I stretched my budget, the past three or four weeks here have shown me it has all been worth it. The Wood is Good - and Michelle's knowledge of this neighbourhood is excellent! Very happy!

Fantastic experience: Very friendly staff

Negative experience: Don't use the property management arm of Bayleys in Nelson. My property was managed by them when I was overseas. Rob was not aware that I had returned and sent an inspection report by email assuring me the tenants were taking good care of the property (which was littered with polystyrene balls from a split bean bag, as well as blowing over to neighboring properties) and the grounds were also being well cared for and the lawns mowed. In actual fact, the grass on the lawn was about two feet high. Doors off cabinets, gas cooker so clogged with grease it couldn't be lit. Fake inspection which I was charged for.

Fantastic experience: Above & Beyond!!! We recently sold our Marlborough Sounds property with the help of Dylan, and I can’t say enough good things about the experience! Selling in the Sounds can be unique, but he handled everything with professionalism and expertise. Dylan's marketing strategy was impressive. She was constantly in communication throughout the entire time our house was on the market; we never once had to ask what was going on. She seems to thrive on the rushed and crazy aspects of this business and never complained or threw up her hands when things got tough (things did get tough too). Her enthusiasm for dealing with people is apparent every step of the process. An absolute pleasure to deal with. You can really trust her with your investment. We purchased through her as well; she was quite happy to spend as much time as we needed in going back to the house, measuring things, asking lots of questions. We've dealt with many land agents as we looked at dozens of homes as purchasers and it's not always seamless, especially during busy times. Fantastic experience: Went͏ above and beyond We were extremely satisfied with the effort Martin made to help sell our home. Especially that we were to far to be able to visit our house, he made sure it was presentable and looking lived in, even to the point of doing a bit of vacuuming to remove dead flies. He showed good knowledge and went out of his way to try and solve some issues that came up within the sale.

Negative experience: Appalling the way they treat tenants and landlords. In my opinion Bayleys Nelson (Rob, Raffaella and Katie-Jane) are the biggest crooks around, manipulating the truth to benefit their pockets, whilst doing the bare minimum that is required of them. Charging landlords for their mistakes and not responding for months to tenants. I'm disgusted with how I've been treated by these people and would fully recommend anyone stay clear!!

Fantastic experience: Fast͏ and painless sale Marion͏ immediately allayed all my concerns about preparing my house to be ready for sale. Better still, Sammie was able to close a very acceptable deal even before we went to market. This meant we never had to go through tiresome repeated open homes or the struggle of keeping the house spotless for multiple viewings.

Fantastic experience: From Kris very kindly meeting us immediately at a property, and later to the receptionist Ms Winstanley, Brigid, Will (had communications via text) and the staff having lunch in their wee room. Had dealings with Rodger Jones also. We found everyone to be extremely helpful, obliging and made us feel special. Very refreshing after having met with a lot of agents/agencies in Marlborough/Nelson Tasman area.

Positive experience: Apart from the awesome photos and videos, the service would have to rate as mediocre at best. An ill prepared Sales rep who seemed to bumble through the whole process with little regard for the factual property statistics. A sale was finalised more on luck than skill. The most expensive commission rates and not so much as a bottle of bubbly as thanks. Parasites within our society.
