Fantastic experience: The friendliest, most efficient and transparent service I have ever experience from a rental agency, even with a moving deadline. Rentlink and Rosemary will be my go-to from here on out.

Negative experience: We lived in a property managed by this agency for 9 years, always paid our rent on time without a single missed payment, and kept the house clean and well-maintained throughout our tenancy. Unfortunately, our long-term experience with the property manager was consistently frustrating and disappointing. When we moved in, the property was in a very poor and dirty condition, both inside and out. We had to request professional cleaners, but even after that, the property remained unclean and we ended up cleaning the entire place ourselves. The curtains were infested with cockroach eggs and cobwebs, so we replaced them at our own cost. The gas bottle was empty, and though we purchased a new one, we are now being asked to refill it. Maintenance issues were often ignored. We reported a leaking kitchen tap that was left unattended for several months, likely increasing our water bill. Communication was unreliable—emails were frequently ignored or denied, and we were repeatedly asked the same questions we had already answered. We were instructed to carry out repairs clearly outside our responsibility, such as fixing the exterior wall and sections of flooring. Years ago, we changed the front door lock and provided keys to both the property manager and the landlord, but the landlord was never informed. For the past nine years, a friend of the landlord entered the property every 2–3 months without proper 48-hour notice, demanding access to the garage. If we weren’t home, we were criticized for it. Now we’re being told that items are missing or that we’ve left belongings behind, yet no explanation or evidence has been provided. Despite being reliable, responsible tenants for nearly a decade, we were treated with disregard and a lack of professionalism. We do not recommend this agency.

Fantastic experience: I could not recommend Rentlink highly enough. They are so many levels above the last rental company I dealt with. They have great communication, are friendly, and importantly they value their tenants as well as the property owners. You always get feedback on inspections, which is great. They are always reasonable and amicable if any issues do arise, and they resolve them quickly without fuss or inconvenience. I would most definitely rent through them again, and would highly recommend to both tenants and property owners. Thanks so much, and keep up the great work!

Negative experience: Utterly Incompetent. Would NOT RECOMMEND this company to anyone. Having Rentlink manage our property has been unbelievably stressful and as we are overseas, we had little option to change until family moved to town. There's a reason they have had a massive turnover in staff (told to us by an employee!) and we have had numerous people randomly looking after our property with no consistency. Let’s stick to facts. They promised they could look after our property and they did not. We have chattels and contracted items that they completely ignored (Despite numerous emails asking them to check). When we finally got back to the country, we find they are completely damaged or removed, leaving us thousands of dollars out of pocket. Our gravel driveway was covered with grass/weeds and no clear boundaries anymore, this work will have to be completely redone. We never got complete moving out/in photos/reports and we always had to chase them up. They promised they would take screwdrivers to inspections, yet we still got nearly $60 bills from their handyperson to tighten doorknobs and toilet roll holder. They removed expenses from our rent before the work was done. They did non-approved work numerous times and even work we said not to do as we had a different provider we wanted to use. They never checked for the cheapest supplier, just got the first one who could get the work done and we were stuck paying higher than market rates often. They never checked repairs were done properly leading to further damage and costs to us. Their accounting is abysmal, they left the last tenant thinking they were THREE WEEKS ahead on rent when they weren’t, and then slammed them with unreasonable cleaning fees we also did not approve (Tenancy Tribunal agreed with tenant – as do we). They left rubbish onsite, ignore holes in the soffit, damage to flooring and walls. They currently still owe us money that is like trying to get blood from a stone. I had to go through the entire accounts and found a random week’s rent that was $120 short, expenses that were never fully refunded. This isn’t even the half of it and all we got was excuses or gaslighting. We ended up managing water/power ourselves after a few months, so all they had was lifestyle block (but they ignored most of the garden as we had to deal with that as well). If you want an agent who will look after your property so you don’t have to, THIS IS NOT IT.

Fantastic experience: Ten months ago I commented that Rentlink had a good website that was easy to navigate - all true. Since then I have had the privilege of being a tenant with Rentlink. As a tenant, I have been very lucky to have this team of wonderfully professional and courteous women represent the landlord for the property being rented, and provide me with advice and support when requested. The timeliness of their responses, their compassion and empathy when personal matters arose for me, their excellent customer service ethic and dedication to being excellent representative/agents for landlords is second to none. I believe it is important for anyone wanting to engage their services as Property Managers to know that they treat the tenants in an appropriate and acceptable manner at all times while acting for and on behalf of the landlord. Respect is earned, and this team has certainly done that. One example of a positive consumer experience from Rentlink is receiving a weekly Receipt acknowledging that my rent has been received by them. That small piece of paper noting the monies have been paid is an acknowledgment that Rentlink understands the importance of good communication and business practices and allows the tenant to breathe easy, knowing the rent is paid for another week.
