Negative experience: Some estate agents excel at understanding a property’s value attributes and the nuances that underpin it - working closely with vendors to ensure that value is properly recognized. I’ve worked with a number of such agents across different cities in various countries. Unfortunately, Harcourts Gold Papanui is not one of them. In our experience (buying and selling), this office is more focused on turnover and industry accolades than on achieving the best outcome for the vendor. I never seen - or even imagined - a agent switching so blatantly to work for the buyer in order to get a deal through...We regret entrusting them with the sale of our home. [negative 5 stars for the agents, and 5 stars for the photographer = 1 star total]

Fantastic experience: Successful Purchase. Lydia is friendly and approachable agent who will support her clients anyway she can. She a very clear communicator and will respond to queries and questions promplty allowing the client to feel supported and listened to. Lydia works very hard to give her client the best results in the current climate. Having a team like Lydia and Liam working for you takes the stress and pressure out of the process due to their extensive market knowledge and wanting the best outcome for their client.

Negative experience: We went with Harcourts Gold with agent Jack Milligan to sell our property and I would not be using their services again or recommend them to anyone. Jack arrived late to several of our open homes, including the first open home, where he had not even organised collecting a key for our property so we had potential buyers come while we were still at the property and he wasn’t there. He also over-promised and under-delivered in his service and results and his communication with us as first home sellers was terrible. We were very disappointed with the whole process.

Fantastic experience: Kathryn Richards - Absolute Excellence & Great Communicator. We started looking at properties by ourselves (to no avail!) and were put in contact with Kathryn by a friend. It was clear straight away that Kathryn has a wealth of knowledge in the real estate world, and using her as a buyers agent changed our experience completely. Her communication was clear and quick, we would chat and send voice note thoughts when it wasn't possible to chat on the phone. She absolutely tailored this to suit us. Kathryn really worked to understand our wants, and would watch us and listen carefully as we attended open homes picking up on the little things. She would send the next home suggestions with those in mind. We attended lots of open homes together and it was great for us to have Kathryn there as an unbiased person. It was clear she's so knowledgeable, and with it brings an air of confidence to a world we found quite daunting! We never felt like a bother asking her questions (and there were lots!) and was always honest when we asked her opinion on something. When we found a house we both loved, we had a quick turnaround for our first auction and Kathryn immediately got onto helping us with the pre-auction work required. We both have busy jobs and would have struggled ourselves to make time for all of the daytime calls and liaising needed, Kathryn had our back and no job was left behind!! Kathryn attended the auction for us and we were on the phone. There is no way we would have come away with the house without her. She knew how auctions worked and took the time to talk us through it and every scenario that might come up. On the day she used some great strategies we'd discussed to go in and win. Her confidence and professionalism at auction really worked in our favour. Kathryn was an absolute professional to work with and we would recommend working with her to anyone. I live in the north island and the house was in Christchurch. I contacted Hayden after a google search and asked if he could help out. From start to finish he was fantastic.
